Cloth Diapers Leaking Around Legs
Move babys legs up and down side to side.
Cloth diapers leaking around legs. If you can fit your finger between the elastic and their leg they are too loose. The legs around your babys onesies are wet with pee. Fill a sink or tub with hot water and add 1 Tablespoon blue Dawn.
Oversaturated or flooded diapers. This can easily be prevented by changing to clothes that are less tight. Improper fit OR over-saturation.
Either way the diapers can be fixed. Over the past few weeks they have started leaking everytime they are used at. Since cloth diapers dont have the handy wet indicator that disposables do it can be tough to know when to change.
Cloth diapers leaking around the leg occurs because the elastic bands are not sized correctly. Are any bits of inner fabric. Add another insert and see if you solve the leaking problem.
Use waterproof bloomers instead of plastic briefs so that there is a larger distance between the cloth diaper and the legwaistbands. The diaper should fit snugly around the waist and legs with no gaps. If you can see your cloth diaper bulging up and creating a gap at the waist your waist gusset may be secured too tightly or it may need to be pulled up higher on your babys waist or the leg rise snaps may need to be re-adjusted to allow more room for the cloth diaper inside.
Make sure the leg gussets are in the crease of the thigh and crotch. Take a look here if you have more questions about cloth diapers. Check the legs Is the fit working well here.
